Sb2Te3 is part of the bismuth-chalcogenide family, the most widely studied type of topological insulators. They are regarded as model examples of 3D topological insulators, hosting a single spin-helical surface state, at least theoretically. In practice, exposure to residual gases in UHV radically alters its electronic structure. Structurally, Sb2Te3 is a quintuple layer topological insulator, and becomes superconducting under pressure.
