Au NP Plasmonic Film
Our plasmonic film is a highly-organised monolayer of gold nanoparticles on a glass substrate. The gold nanoparticle films are fabricated by self-assembly at the liquid-air interface and then transferred to the substrate using the Langmuir-Schaefer method.
The extended monolayers of tightly packed nanoparticles exhibit bluish coloration that stems from plasmon coupling. The light absorbance at Vis-NIR spectral range makes the plasmonic films attractive for biological applications and sensing.
Each film is characterized by UV-VIS absorption measurements, and the Au nanoparticles in solution are characterized by transmission electron microscopy.
